Subject: Tidbit - "tens of thousands" Windows Problems

Keyword: Advocacy, Why Macs Are Better

This tidbit is from:

Michael Kucsak

I am the network Administrator of a mixed Mac and PC environment. I just
picked up Cybermedia's First Aid 98 and while installing it I read the
caption

"Fixes tens of thousands of Windows problems and provides protection from
hard disk failures, crashes and other problems"

Now I ask you, why would anyone want an operating system that has tens of
thousands of problems?

Lately I keep hearing these QuarterDeck (a long standing PC company) ads
on KCBS radio (AM...been listening to that station a lot through the
recent storms. :-). They all follow the same vein -- hapless PC user is
pushed to the brink, while his buddy (sounding calm and assured) tells
him of various QuarterDeck products that will save his sanity (at one
point the user is apparently about to jump from a ledge, PC in his arms!).

One product is a special "help" program to assist users through "all the
common PC problems, step by step". The other is a program that will
"safely and completely" erase duplicate files, partially uninstalled
programs, and browser cache (!).

I think that speaks for itself. :/
