Subject: Tidbit - Why Macs are Better: a letter to the editor

Keyword: Advocacy, Why Macs Are Better

This tidbit is from:

Walli Haley

This appeared in the on-line version of The Chronicle of Higher
Education's letters to the editor.

"Macs are easier to set up, easier to load software onto, and easier to
maintain. Our school is a primary Windows user and the PCs, when they go
down, have to be carried out from the lab and are out of commission for a
while. Macs RARELY do this (and no, Jobs isn't paying me to say this).
Mac is an educational dream computer: it's point and click (NOT over a
dinosaur DOS skeleton) makes it an ideal computer to teach on and to use.
Yet, the PC megagiants continue their insidious grasping of every area in
which the Mac could -- and should -- easily reign supreme. Is it tied to
graft? Blackmail? Alas! Perhaps tied only to the stupidity of
administrators who buy into the PC promotional media..."
