On a private discussion mailing list I subscribe to, we came upon the 
topic of the equivalance of option key summaries in Windoze. One member 
points out that

To make a (tm) on a Mac - hit Option-2 
on Windoze - hold down alt, type 0153, then release alt

To make a bullet point on a Mac - hit Option-8 
on Windoze -- ??

There's also the utility Key Caps on the Mac, which helps if you've 
forgotten how to get certain special characters. Does Windows have that 
capability? :-)
