This tidbit is from:

Ken Armour

Excerpt from a "real life" conversation, overheard at coffee time this
morning, between two Win'95 users who've recently bought Zip drives.

"G____, have you had any problems with your Zip drive? I installed mine
and then couldn't print or access my network files on drive e: . I had to
get the system administrator to reconfigure my network drive to drive i:
before I could access my files, and I can now print, but only when the
the Zip drive isn't running."

"No, I've had no problems at all - mine installed onto drive d: and
worked straight away. Mind you, drive d: is the CD-ROM drive, but who
needs to use that anyway?"
