Subject: Embracing Technology

I've been using computers for twenty years and married for five years.
The two never really conflicted with each other until Apple released the
"cutest" (my wife's term) little laptop in the form of the 12-inch
PowerBook G4. Life has never been the same since.

Upon the arrival of the 12-inch PowerBook, I dutifully started working
two jobs. The first being my primary job as a Network Administrator at
work and the second being the Network Administrator for my house. It
seems the number one caller for assistance at my office is now my wife.
Sometimes, it is an email from Mail. Another day it could be a pop-up
from iChat. Once in a while, it is the gentle sounds of iChat requesting
a videoconference.

The DV camera we bought over two years ago has suddenly gotten a second
chance at life. Now that my wife has iMovie and iDVD, even she can plug
it and download movies.

In summary, the PowerBook has done what I have been trying to do for the
last 5 years — get my wife to embrace technology. In all seriousness,
her new 12-inch PowerBook has sparked an interest in computing that was
never there before.
