Subject: A riser for the iBook

As the editor of a college paper one finds oneself doing pretty much
everything. I had to scan photos in, do the layout, and basically spend
long, long hours in front of the only computers available in the office,
which were these funky Macintoshes. Well. Let me tell you, after using
programs like Quark and Photoshop on a Mac and still being able to use
“PC” programs like Word, Excel and PowerPoint I was HOOKED. Macintoshes
are the most personal way to deal with technology. The platforms are so
adaptable, flexible and fluid, conforming like a fitted leather jacket.
My IBM Thinkpad was efficient, yes, but never said “Hi!” to me or have
fun with me the way my delightful iBook does.

I don’t have a desk, instead I work on my carpeted floor and use a
little stool as a table. My IBM Thinkpad still sits on the stool, only
now it serves to provide additional height for my iBook to sit. The
thickness as compared to my iBook really comes in handy.
